In recent years, our gut has been nicknamed as ‘the second brain’ and there are good reasons for it. We each host about 2kg worth of microbiota in our gut and they produce chemicals, such as neurotransmitters which influence our mood, our behaviour and even our cravings. So, how exactly do they send you the ‘pizza order’ from down there? We’ll find out the ways they communicate to us and how we could become better friends.
Mayumi Nakabayashi was born in Japan and has been living in Ireland for over 20 years. She is a qualified nutrition and diet adviser and holistic massage therapist, and has been working in the alternative health field for over 14 years. Her company, My Self Care Journey, offers a uniquely tailored therapy sessions and workshops around the country and abroad. She is also a flower mandala maker and a voice teacher.
Maha Kikugawa was born in Tokyo, educated in the US, and has been living in Dublin for over 2 years. She is building Treeful Treehouse EcoResort, in Okinawa, Japan. She also has her social media marketing company Maha Inc. and Instagram platform.
