The Ireland Japan Association is delighted to invite you to an online webinar ‘Japanese Kimono: Dressing Demonstration’ together with Akiko Kidokoro and Emily Waszak from Dublin Kitsuke Society. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Saturday, 27th June at 11 a.m.
The Kimono (着物) has become established as one of the most recognisable elements of Japanese culture. This traditional Japanese dress can embrace many different styles and remains in use in modern Japan. This webinar will give you an opportunity to experience Kimono dressing demonstration with full explanations from our guest speakers Akiko and Emily.

- Akiko Kidokoro was born and raised in Japan. She has a BA in Japanese language and literature from Sophia university in Tokyo. She is happy to spread her love for Japanese culture such as Kimono, the Japanese tea ceremony and origami.
- Emily Waszak is a textile designer living in Dublin. She was born in America to a Japanese father and she herself lived in Japan for many years, learning about Kimono and Japanese textiles. Emily has a Master of Textiles degree from North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles.
